BIOGRAPHY
"My art starts with the people I've met, from the places I traveled or dreamed of traveling. I think a painting should awaken in the one who looks at it the explorer inside him either by appealing to the past through his experience or memories, rousing his nostalgic disposition, or projecting it into the future, encouraging him to dream. If I manage to turn my viewers into dreamers then I think I have succeeded as an artist."
Ciprian Mihailescu majored in Philosophy and Arts at the University of Bucharest. He is a member of the Romanian Artists Union and of the Nottingham Society of Artists. He is an admirer of the great masters but also of Surrealism and his work combines magical realism and post-conceptual themes. His eclectic sources of inspiration include mythology, religions, philosophy, literature and science. His work has become part of private collections across the world.
